The Supreme Magician!

Verse 1.15.35 (Srinivas Acharya Prabhuji):

* The Supreme Lord relinquished the body which He manifested to diminish the burden of the earth. Just like a magician, He relinquishes one body to accept different ones, like the fish incarnation and others.
* Here, SP is quoting from so many scriptures to explain the most misunderstood aspect of the Lord's pastimes, His disappearance.
* Any one thinking that the Lord has a material body, should be ostracized by all means.
* The Lord who is the controller of Maya, appears and disappears according to Himself, just as a magician appears and disappears in front of the crowd.
* Eg: A magician made the Statue of Liberty disappear once. Actually it was there only, he just made the vision of the people covered so that they could not see it. If a human being could do this, then what to speak of the Supreme magician, Krishna!
* It is also explained that we should clearly understand the personal form of the Lord.
* Between the Lord and the conditioned living entity, there is a covering, it could either be mahamaya or yogamaya. Only once that is removed, we can see the beautiful form of the Lord.
* In SB, it is said that the Supreme can be understood in 3 phases: brahman, paramatma and bhagavan.
* Similarly, in several verses in Brahmasamhita, Lord Brahma mentions so many beautiful aspects of the Lord's body, which is completely transcendental.
* The Supreme Lord is way beyond the dualities of material nature.
* He does His disappearance also by His own sweet will, just as a magician.
* The Lord also promises that one who understand this transcendental appearance and disappearance pastimes of His, will never have to take birth again in this material world. BG!
* Maitrya muni explains to Vidhura that the body actually left behind by the Lord (when the hunter shoots the arrow at the lotus feet of the Lord),is nothing but the material manifestation of the Viraat rupa.
