Developing faith through continued Sadhana!

Verse 1.15.40 (Ramana Prji):

* SP wrote in a letter in simple words, describing attachment and detachment
- when we keep ourselves in association with Krishna, then we are in proper detachment of the material world, otherwise, we are in attachment to the material world.
* BG Ch 12 verse, nirmamo nirahankara... "...is very dear to me"
* Unlimited attachments in our lives.
* We need self-realization not sense gratification.
* Krishna, our gurus made everything very clear. That mind is the cause of the both bonding's and liberation.
* Solution is mind not contemplating on the sense objects. Control the mind through practice and detachment.
* Sadhana, best is hearing - hear japa, hear lectures, hear kirtans, then is kirtanam!
* Then we will see the difference. The problem we started with was uncontrollable mind, but when the above solution is applied, automatically the problem is overcome. We just need to have faith in the words of the Lord and His pure devotees.
* Once this faith develops through continued endeavor from our side, we become dear to the Lord.
* Same is seen from Maharaj Yudhistira's life.

Varnashrama System

Verse 1.15.39 (Sundari Mataji):

* SP is commenting very nicely on the Varnashrama system mentioned in the Vedic System.
* The scientific system of varṇāśrama-dharma divides the human life into four divisions of occupation and four orders of life. The four orders of life as brahmacārī, grhastha, vānaprastha and sannyāsī are to be followed by all, irrespective of the occupational division.
* Grhasthaashrama = raising the family in a Krishna Conscious way. From the beginning we need to prepare to enter into the Vanaprastha life, for self realization. Cause that is the goal of human life.
* Otherwise we will be entangled in material situations. Only one person can remove us from here, that is Krishna.
* For that we must cry for Krishna's help as much as a baby cries for its mother, cause it is absolutely dependent on its mother. Then that will really attract the mercy of Krishna!
* "Temporary inconvenience for Permanent convenience", is the false promise of Maya.
* What we have to understand is that if we live simply, then we can divert our energies to main purpose of human life.
* In the US, usually it is a very luxurious life. But in the bad economic condition, ppl are not able to adjust cause they are so used to the luxurious life, attached to material temporary happiness.
* Attachment to service is what we need to develop.
* It doesn't matter where u are, just stay where you are and try to understand Krishna, serve Him, then you will go back for sure... CC
* Chant to attract the mercy of Krishna and be happy!

Independence by dependence on Krishna!

Verse 1.15.38 (Kasi Prji):

* Thereafter, in the capital of Hastinapura, he enthroned his grandson, who was trained and equally qualified, as the emperor and master of all land bordered by the seas.
* So here we see that MY made his grandson Maharaj Parikshit the emperor of the earth and prepared to take to the renounced order and go back home to Godhead.
* SP comments elsewhere that Kings should not be dependent on anyone for ruling their kingdom. They should only be dependent on Krishna. If ruled in such a proper way, all natural things will be given to the kingdom and hence everyone would be happy.
* But unlike that, in today's world, the King's or Presidents are either not completely independent or are not devotees. The result is wide-spread anarchy and so many natural causes of suffering.
* Story of Alexander the Great and the small thief.
* Same way, human beings having higher intelligence, they should make their life successful by accepting KC, otherwise there is no difference between them and the animals.
* Life is tottering like a drop of water on the lotus leaf. Any time the end can come. We should therefore spend this lifetime in sincerely achieving God Consciousness.
* "When young, ppl spend health to gain wealth. When old, they spend wealth to gain health. Ultimately they do not gain anything".
* Determination, devotion to the Lord is required to sincerely chant and hence attain self-realization.

Retiring timely!

Verse 1.15.37 (Yugal Kishore Prji):

* Very instructive verse for everyone, irrespective of what ashram one is.
* Besides that, being an ideal king, Maharaja Yudhisthira wanted to retire just to set an example for others. As soon as there is some young fellow to look after the household affairs, one should at once retire from family life to uplift oneself to spiritual realization.
* Working towards spiritual realization should be then the highest priority.
* One thing today seen is everyone is behind eating, eating all the time. But instead of torturing the body with so much food, we should eat only prasadam as much necessary to sustain the body.
* The environment is also not at all congenial, Kaliyuga is already spread everywhere. Practically everyone is going behind eating, mating, sleeping and defending, except of course the devotees.
* The bodily consciousness is very strong right now in human beings.
* It is also said as Kali progresses, citizens have to run away to the forests to protect themselves from the rulers.
* SP is also commenting: Maharaj Yudhistira was retiring timely to set an example. Retired old gentlemen should take lessons from him and leave home for spiritual realization before forcefully dragged away to meet death.
* Because family life without Krishna is just based on: I scratch your back, you scratch mine.
* But a family based on KC, this situation does not arise.
* Krishna instructed to Uddhava, leave before kali comes in.
* If devotees are not sincere, they can do more harm than outsiders.
* The Pandavas are eternal companions of the Lord, and therefore they are more interested in the company of the Lord than anything else. I wish I can achieve that quality.
* To remember this all the time, we should read SB everyday.

Two points...

Verse 1.15.36 (Saci Suta Prji):

* Two imp points to take home
- understanding the transcendental disappearance of the Lord
- how to protect ourselves from the onslaught of maya, Kali
* Krishna came to this world on the request of the demigods and also disappeared in the same form once His pastimes were completed.
* BG 4, janma karma chame divyam....
* How we can protect ourselves in this Kaliyuga. SP comments: The influence of Kali can be enforced only upon those who are not fully developed in God consciousness. One can neutralize the effects of Kali by keeping oneself fully under the supreme care of the Personality of Godhead.
* By mercy of Siksa and Diksa Guru's.
* With this association, envy will not be there.
* Triple filter test of Socrates: Truth, Goodness and Usefulness
- Gramyakatha should be stopped therefore. Only Krishna katha passes all these tests.
* So many distractions in this world, how can we protect us?
- Using the incarnation of the Lord in the sound form. The holy name!
* Keeping Krishna in the center, constant association of devotees, serving devotees etc.
* SB 12.3.52: Whatever result was obtained by performing the sacrifices/deity worship/penances in the other 3 yugas, same can be obtained just by chanting of the holy name, which is the yuga dharma of this age.

Sri Ramanavami 2010

(Yugal Kishore Prji):

* This ia very very auspicious day. Lord Ramachandra appeared today.
* He is called maryadapushottam, he never exceeded etiquette/standards.
* Ramayanam, the story of Rama and Sita, filled with devotion, valor, substance, all the 9 rasas are there.
* He illuminates the whole Raghu dynasty. Very dear to King Dasaratha.
* His hands are very long, almost touching the knees. He grabs the devotees who are running towards Him, thus delivering.
* His eyes are like lotuses, He is the reservoir of pleasure.
* He eradicates the demons, who dwell the nights. He alone killed 14000 asuras who came to attack them in the forest, upon Surpanaka's request.
* We have demoniac like qualities. Krishna, Lord Rama came to kill the demons. But Lord Sri CM came to kill the demoniac qualities in us, through chanting of the holy name.
* No one equals Lord Rama: Most ideal son, ideal husband, ideal ruler, ideal brother, ideal lord.
* One question usually thought by ppl: Why mother Sita was banished by Lord Rama, upon hearing from a drunkard washerman's blasphemy?
A: Sambhoga and Vipralamba. (Union and separation). If we see, Krishna left Vrindavan at the age of 10 years 7 months. Rasa lila happened the previous night, the next he left to Mathura. He only came almost 115 years later. This is vipralambha. Because the experience was so intense, they treasured it, they tolerated it. In separation, intensity is more. Gopi's would experience Krishna everywhere. When Krishna was present before them, they saw Krishna only in Krishna. But when He was not there, they saw Krishna everywhere.
Similarly, Lord Ramachandra gave that experience to Mother Sita. He is actually a prisoner in Mother Sita's heart. They are together, we cannot separate them. Just to give her this experience of seeing Him everywhere, this banishment was done. This was just an excuse to treasure the Vrindavan experience, the Vrindavan love. Cause Lord Rama and Lord Krishna's appearance is cyclical.

The Supreme Magician!

Verse 1.15.35 (Srinivas Acharya Prabhuji):

* The Supreme Lord relinquished the body which He manifested to diminish the burden of the earth. Just like a magician, He relinquishes one body to accept different ones, like the fish incarnation and others.
* Here, SP is quoting from so many scriptures to explain the most misunderstood aspect of the Lord's pastimes, His disappearance.
* Any one thinking that the Lord has a material body, should be ostracized by all means.
* The Lord who is the controller of Maya, appears and disappears according to Himself, just as a magician appears and disappears in front of the crowd.
* Eg: A magician made the Statue of Liberty disappear once. Actually it was there only, he just made the vision of the people covered so that they could not see it. If a human being could do this, then what to speak of the Supreme magician, Krishna!
* It is also explained that we should clearly understand the personal form of the Lord.
* Between the Lord and the conditioned living entity, there is a covering, it could either be mahamaya or yogamaya. Only once that is removed, we can see the beautiful form of the Lord.
* In SB, it is said that the Supreme can be understood in 3 phases: brahman, paramatma and bhagavan.
* Similarly, in several verses in Brahmasamhita, Lord Brahma mentions so many beautiful aspects of the Lord's body, which is completely transcendental.
* The Supreme Lord is way beyond the dualities of material nature.
* He does His disappearance also by His own sweet will, just as a magician.
* The Lord also promises that one who understand this transcendental appearance and disappearance pastimes of His, will never have to take birth again in this material world. BG!
* Maitrya muni explains to Vidhura that the body actually left behind by the Lord (when the hunter shoots the arrow at the lotus feet of the Lord),is nothing but the material manifestation of the Viraat rupa.

Yadu Dynasty disappearance explained!

Verse 1.15.34 (Kavitha Mataji):

* We see here the explanation on the destruction of the yadu dynasty.
* Krishna says in the BG: "yada yada..."
and also "paritranaya sadhunam....", so in this verse we see that members of His family were intoxicated and behaving irreligious, so being impartial, He caused their destruction.
* Actual reason for this destruction is also explained clearly here: To give the rishi's relief from this mental agony of the destruction of the Yadu dynasty, Sūta Gosvāmī assured them that the Lord caused the members of the Yadu dynasty to relinquish their bodies by which they had to take away the burden of the world. The Lord and His eternal associates appeared on earth to help the administrative demigods in eradicating the burden of the world. He therefore called for some of the confidential demigods to appear in the Yadu family and serve Him in His great mission. After the mission was fulfilled, the demigods, by the will of the Lord, relinquished their corporeal bodies by fighting amongst themselves in the madness of intoxication.
* We can also see that there is nothing permanant in this material world. Everything is temporary, cause the powerful Yadu dynasty was also destroyed by the power of time.
* "Maro Krishna rakhe ke, rakhe Krishna maro ke".
* The supremacy of the Lord is transcendental and unquestionable.

* The Yadu dynasty was becoming very powerful, cause they were all eternal associates of the Lord. They were becoming so powerful that possibly one day they could also challenge the heavenly planetary systems. So when the Lord decided to go back, He considered that they will become a burden to earth, so wished to take them back with Him. That is why under the control of yogamaya, this pastime of intoxication was enacted and all the Yadu members left their corporeal body and went back to Krishna!

Develop abhayam...

Verse 1.15.32 (Ashish Prji):

* Like to being the summary with a crude example of a circus show. The master brings all his cast members to begin the show.
* Similarly, the Lord comes with all His eternal associates, but of course gives most sacred instructions.
* If we follow them, we get to associate with Him, otherwise, we will simply suffer in the material world.
* In CC, Sri CM says that chanting on the holy name is the only solution to all sufferings of mankind.
* Lord Siva also says: Persons who are devoted to Narayana, are never afraid of anything, cause they have taken shelter of the lotus feet of Narayana.
* We have to take this shelter of the holy name very sincerely. We have develop "abhayam", that fearlessness to preach this message of Lord Krishna in a very humble way, by taking the shelter of the lotus feet of Krishna.
* However to do that, we have to be convinced of this strength of the holy name.
* Ultimate goal is self realization and also to share this message with everyone in the world.

Meditating on instructions and lotus feet of Krishna!

Verse 1.15.31 (Yugal Kishore Prji):

* So here, Arjuna here was overcome with grief and lamentation, in separation from Krishna.
* Then what did he do, he deeply meditated on the lotus feet of Krishna, His instructions in the form of BG, immediately all the trash and lamentation was gone.
* He became vishoka, free from lamentation.
* One instruction we can get from this verse is: Because he is an eternal associate of the Lord, he could not take the separation. But he overcome the grief by meditating on Krishna's instructions and His lotus feet.
* We are also in so much grief, we have to meditate on the instructions of Guru and Krishna's lotus feet.
* SP is making a point: Krishna is absolute. When you chant the name of Krishna, you are with Krishna. When you speak about Him, you are with Him. When we hear our pastimes, we are with Krishna.
* when we are absorbed in the holy name, we are with Krishna. Then we are making our existence spiritual.
* Krishna comes in the form of acharya ot train us. Guru gives Krishna's instructions, so when we follow them sincerely, we are actually following Krishna's instructions and hence achieve perfection.
* Without taking permission from senior Vaisnavas, we should not take any vows.
* Raghunath Das Goswami was feeling a lot of separation after the departure of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. But Srila Rupa and Sanatana Goswami asked him to continue to live and give lectures everyday on Mahaprabhu's life, near Radha Kunda.
* One of his disciples was Krsnadas Kaviraj Goswami, he noted everything and then wrote Sri Caitanya Caritamrita.
* Points to take back
- Dualities come from the misconception of the material body
- When we transcend them, fixed on serving Krishna, never failing in all circumstances, Krishna is telling that you are at once placed in Brahman and in your spiritual perspective!

Regret leading to Determination!

Verse 1.15.30 (Phani Prji):

* This is shloka is making it clear that Krishna's activities are beyond the manifestations of time.
* Arjuna's anxiety was also part of this yoga maya manifestation. And then Arjuna as soon as he remembered Krishna's words, he became lord of his senses.
* In order to control our senses, we have to remember Guru and Krishna's words. As long as we are working for Guru and Krishna, we will be master of our senses. As soon as we are out, we become slave of our senses and we might not even know it.
* To the degree we remember Krishna, He will protect us. The problem is that our heart is so filled with anarthas, there is no place for Krishna. Answer is, whatever little we get through the association of devotees, we should always endeavor to make full use of it. For eg: Chanting, mind is carried away. Then we have to repent for forgiving Krishna and ask for his mercy for strong determination to rectify it and bring our minds again and again back to the name of Krishna!
* With this strong determination, our appetite for KC will increase. That's why Krishna is saying: man mana bhava mad bhakto....
* Why is the BG confidential knowledge? Because it cannot be understood without being in love with Krishna.
...
* Bhurjina Pr: Determination to chant and listen one mantra at a time is so important.
* It is so important to revive our original Krishna Consciousness.

Continuing Purport to Verse 27

Continued (Ramana Prji):

* Best thing in KC is practically implementing it in our lives.
* eg: How SP's disciples took shelter of his words and are so successful.
* This Bhagavad-gita is the shelter for everyone, at any time.
* It shows that the main problem is an uncontrolled mind and uncontrolled senses.
* Krishna says that by practice and detachment, the mind can be controlled.
* Anxiety is a symptom of controller-ship.
* If we don't have the eyes anointed with love for Krishna, then we cannot see it.
* In summary, it is very important to recollect the instructions of Krishna with our actions, in doing so we are always with Krishna.
* Then Krishna is never lost to us and we are not lost to him.

Remebering the Bhagavad-gita!

Verse 1.15.27 (-- Prji):

* Arjuna is saying : Now I am attracted to those instructions imparted to me by the Personality of Godhead [Govinda] because they are impregnated with instructions for relieving the burning heart in all circumstances of time and space.
* He is recollecting the teachings of Lord Krishna, the Bhagavad-gita. It is also for us he is saying that in any anxious state, the BG will be the answer for everything.
* Krishna says in the BG: always think of me, wroship me, I will be your friend and take care of you!
* He might not fix the immediate crisis that we are going through, but He will surely show the way out of it.
* SP also stresses that we need to take care of a Guru to understand these teachings. We need to have sincere faith in Guru. We should be like the illiterate brahmana (in Sri CM's lila), and follow the guidelines of Siksa and Diksa Guru's always, especially in the tough times of our life.
* We will surely benefit from this.

Service Attitude!

Verse 1.15.25-26 (Padma Mataji):

* O King, as in the ocean the bigger and stronger aquatics swallow up the smaller and weaker ones, so also the Supreme Personality of Godhead, to lighten the burden of the earth, has engaged the stronger Yadu to kill the weaker, and the bigger Yadu to kill the smaller.
* In the material world the struggle for existence and survival of the fittest are laws because in the material world there is disparity between conditioned souls due to everyone's desire to lord it over the material resources. This very mentality of lording it over the material nature is the root cause of conditioned life. And to give facility to such imitation lords, the illusory energy of the Lord has created a disparity between conditioned living beings by creating the stronger and the weaker in every species of life.
* In Kaliyuga, as we don't see this kind of varnashrama society any more, everyone is trying to lord it over every other person.
* There is a constant try by everyone to bring down others so as to go up ourselves.
* Fortunately, this is not seen in the spiritual world. Cause everyone exists there eternally. And no one there is seeking enjoyment for themselves, everyone is serving Krishna only.
* So here too, if we have Krishna in the center, then we can be happy too.
* But worst thing is if we have this going forward mentality in devotees. We should actually always try that other devotees should get more recognition than us. We should always give way for other devotees.
* Compassion should be practiced regularly.

* The mood should be there, give priority to devotees. Our behavior should be such that Krishna wants to see us, not that we want to see Him. We should do this at the cost of discomfort for other devotees.
* Where service attitude is present, Krishna bhakti and that temple prospers.

Krishna is neutral to everyone!

Verses 1.15.22-23-24 (Yugal Kishore Prabhuji):

* Here Arjuna is giving information to Maharaj Yudhistira, revealing about the actual facts.
* O King, since you have asked me about our friends and relatives in the city of Dvārakā, I will inform you that all of them were cursed by the brahmanas, and as a result they all became intoxicated with wine made of putrefied rice and fought among themselves with sticks, not even recognizing one another. Now all but four or five of them are dead and gone.
* And Arjuna is narrating that pastime. If we don't understand this in the proper bona fide parampara, we might actually get bewildered.
* Couple of reasons why this destruction of the Yadu dynasty happened
- Krishna wanted to remove the burden of Earth, according to the wish of Brahma
- Krishna had completed His pastime, so He wanted to wind up all His associates too along with Him
* Outwardly, it was shown to be due to the curse of brahmanas.
* All this pastime is very vividly given in the 11 Canto of SB.
* All this pastime took place in the internal energy of Krishna, yoga maya, not maha maya.
* Point is: Krishna is very neutral to everyone!
* This place is very temporary. We don't know how Krishna finishes our story. That's why we should be ready. Request is for everyone to finish 16 rounds in the morning. Also request everyone to do Yoga and Pranayama. The contamination due to the material world is cleared with this yoga.
* Only with intense sadhana, diligence can we have the ability to fight maya's power.
* Sense control is very important, without which there is no possiblility of liberation.
* Naradamuni, initially bhakti in the form of goodness. That's why Krishna disappeared so quickly. So where is our bhakti currently- passion or ignorance.
* We should do our bhakti, just for the pleasure of Guru and Krishna!

Krishna is the real doer!

Verse 1.15.21 (Sirisha Mji):

* In this particular shloka, Arjuna is mentioning that: I have the very same Gāṇḍīva bow, the same arrows, the same chariot drawn by the same horses, and I use them as the same Arjuna to whom all the kings offered their due respects. But in the absence of Lord Kṛṣṇa, all of them, at a moment's notice, have become null and void.
* SP explains wonderfully that: one should not be puffed up by borrowed plumes. All energies and powers are derived from the supreme source, Lord Kṛṣṇa, and they act as long as He desires and cease to function as soon as He withdraws.
* Most of us don't realize this and think that we are the doer. But it is not at all so.
* BG 3.27 purport
* Material civilization without God, is like a child's play.
* As devotees too, we should be careful, cause in the mode of service we might be empowered in many ways. So we have to make sure that our false ego is not puffed up. We should be humble and know that it is all due to the mercy of Guru and Krishna.
* In the mood of tolerance, humility, we should always chant the Mahamantra.
* The empowerment is coming from Krishna.
* Another point is that we should not be envious of other people. We should appreciate their qualities as they are reflecting Krishna's mercy so well.

Eternal Relationship!

Verses 1.15.18-19 (Srinivas Acharya Prji):

* In today's two verses, Arjuna is remembering his interactions with Krishna and explaining those feelings to Maharaj Yudhistira.
* When the soul is in complete ignorance, it does not know anything about God at all.
* When the soul comes to a better state, it thinks God to be the same as itself, therefore envies the Lord.
* But in these 2 verses, we can see that Arjuna was reproaching Krishna as a his friend and because of the sweet will of the Supreme Lord Himself. That is bringing out the sweetness of these pastimes.
* Here Arjuna is lamenting the loss of Krishna and his wonderful interactions with Him.
* In this material world, we also take happiness in many relationships. But these are all temporary. So the acharya, as an enlightened being, tries to build the relationship between the conditioned soul and Krishna, which is permanent.
* Here, Arjuna is not lamenting the temporary loss, but the loss of direct association with Krishna!
* Pure devotional service is seen by the devotees of the Lord, when their eyes are anointed with love of God. This is exactly what Arjuna is explaining in these 2 pastimes.
* The original love towards Krishna will be manifested in us only when we surrender our false ego at the lotus feet of a bona fide acharya.
* 3 things are required: sincerity, seriousness and having no ulterior motives.

Just continue it!

Verse 1.15.15 (Srinivas Pendyala Prji):

* Nice points in this verse
* 1) The Lord's Supreme energy is the reason why everything is happening for us. That is how we can see the presence of the Lord in every single iota of our life.
eg:
* 2) As a Supreme Lord, it is He alone who can increase or decrease the life of any living entity.
eg: We always are either thinking of the past or future, never about the present. If we really see, there is nothing existential about the past tense. So practicing devotees should always live in such a way that he is living in that moment.
- How can I, in this moment chant the holy name of the Lord.
* 3) Everything is the plan of the Lord. Even the Kurkshetra war was the perfect plan of the Lord. Everything is already done by the will of the Lord. We are just instruments.
eg: Just by the will of the Vaisnava, anything can be done. Srila Bhakti vinoda thakur did already everything, but he just left a little for us to serve in this process.
- Krishna always gives credit to the instrument!
- To think that we are the doer of any service is the greatest mistake of any sadhaka.
* 4) Krishna uses tactics nicely for the devotee.
- Krishna answers this also very nicely. Janma karma chame divyam.... BG.
- The Lord's activities are completely transcendental.
* The very sign of anxiety means that we think we are the controller, the doer. But it is not so. The only greatest source of anxiety should be to execute the service of the Lord.
* Whether it is victory, gain or loss, all we need to do is to continue in our service to Lord Krishna!

Gratitude, Humility, Prayers!

Verse 1.15.14 (Yugal Kishore Prji):

* Today we have a nice story to discuss. Arjuna was recollecting his past experiences with Krishna. And by His help, how he could do so many wonderful things.
* Today he is recollecting about how they won the war against the mighty Kauravas, and how he won over them in the Virata war.
* Story about the Pandavas spending their incognito time in the kingdom of Virata. Arjuna was residing their as Brhannala, (through the curse of Urvashi). The Kauravas stealing the cows, and Uttara kumara deciding to go to fight against the Kauravas.
* Sammohanastra. Whoever has no control over their senses will become unconscious with this weapon.
* Bhakti means gratitude. If we are ungrateful, we take things for granted. Actually gratitude is bhakti.
* The tendency of conditioned soul is to take things for granted, thats why I want to enjoy.
* So how do we pray to Krishna: Krishna, my heart is full of anarthas, I am coming in front of u with the opportunity you gave me. Thank you so much.
- Then we have to offer our prayers.
* Namaruchi, jiva daya and vaisnava seva, is what we should all be praying for. (Taste for holy name, compassion to preach, service to devotees are these three)
* If we think ourselves as qualified, then we will not become recipients of mercy.
* Humble means no false ego.

Power from the Lord...

Verse 1.15.13 (Kasi Prji):

* Here we see how Arjuna is feeling intense separation from Krishna, after Krishna left the material world.
* He is also reminding MY about all the ways they were saved by Lord Krishna. One such way was when Arjuna visited the heavenly planets.
* This demon, Nivatakavacha, was the son of Kasyapa muni.
* He received boon from Lord Siva, in such a way that he will not be killed by demons or rishi's.
* Arjuna is able to kill therefore this demon, by the grace of Lord Krishna.
* That same Arjuna, now was not able to protect the queens of Dwaraka. So Arjuna is actually telling that all his power was coming from Lord Krsna.
* We can also see that each and every person gets his power from the Supreme Lord and therefore the best way is to use all of it in the Lord's service.
* Of course, it is different from one person to other. So we should be too proud of our power, but being a humble servant of the Lord, employ it in His service.
- Eg: Rupa and Sanatana Goswami, Dhruva Maharaj. Yudhistira Maharaj, Hanumanji
* SP also comments: The Lord is all-powerful, and by His grace His pure devotee can be as powerful as He may desire, and there is no limit to it. And when the Lord withdraws His power from anyone, he is powerless by the will of the Lord.
* As a sadhaka, if we try to acquire these qualities, one day our eyes will also be filled with the love for God!
* The Lord always protects His devotees. On the contrary, the non-devotees although might perform all their duties very nicely, still are not protected by the Lord.

Pleasing Krishna pleases All!

Verse 1.15.12 ( Prji):

* In this verse, Arjuna is continuing his realizations with a grateful heart as to how all the things in his life was due to the grace of the Lord Krishna.
* Here, Arjuna is talking about how he fought with Lord Siva and was able to please with him, just because Lord Krishna was already please with him.
* SP comments that if we please Krishna, then everything else will be satisfied.
* In actuality, we don't try to please Krishna, but we want name, fame, happiness etc. That's why SP is making the point clear here, that anything we do, we must do to satisfy and please Krishna.
* Another significance of the present verse is that Arjuna, by the grace of Lord Sri Krsna, was able to reach the heavenly planet even with the selfsame body and was honored by the heavenly demigod Indradeva, being seated with him half-elevated.
* SP also comments that moon is also among the heavenly planets. So all endeavor by material scientists is useless.
* Why Krishna was pleased with Arjuna, cause Arjuna was completely sense controlled and was always doing everything to please Krishna.
* Without sense control, we cannot be self realized, without self-realization we cannot come to please Krishna.
* Krishna is saying in the BG: He is the thread that is holding all the pearls together.
* We should completely depend on His mercy, there is no other alternative.
* When we chant inattentively, we are blocking the mercy of Krishna, due to the illusion that we are the doer. As long as we expect some honor, we cannot chant attentively.
* But when we chant attentively, we are completely exposed to the rain of the mercy of the Lord.
* That's why Sri CM says that we need humility, tolerance and must give all respect to others.
* Although we know all these things, still our chanting is not good. Our only hope is the association of devotees and their prayers.

Sincerity, Seriousness, Pleasing Devotees!

Verse 1.15.11 (Mohan Prji):

* This is very nice pastime seen in today's verse. Srila Prabhupada has very nicely given it for us.
* Arjuna is talking here about all the times when Lord Sri Krishna saved them.
* For us also, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has come in this kali yuga. Some points from Gaura Purnima celebrations
- Lord CM is giving love of God so easily. The only thing we need is sincerity.
- Lord Gauranga is not putting any exam to us to get love of God. But if we easily get this, how can we take it seriously. So Sri CM has given a simple process, all we need is sincerity.
- We should clearly believe that I really want Krishna in this life. I really want!
- Our focus should be clear and we should ready to leave every other thing other than this thing of achieving Krishna.
- Any sacrifice we do, any activity we do, if we remember that we want to get pure love of God, then we will be good on the path to the goal.
- Everything that we need to know to go back to Godhead is present in the first Canto of the SB itself. We are almost through with 3/4th of it, but did we really get all the messages that SP is giving to us.
- Second thing is seriousness. Our day to day activities should be surrounded with Krishna. Our life is more centered around work now. But if our life is centered around chanting, then everything else will automatically fall in place.
* So how can we achieve this sincerity and seriousness
- by associating with devotees who are like that
- if we are just envious of such devotees, we will never get anything
* So for us the key thing is to please devotees. It is the only key for going back to Godhead!

Verse 1.15.9 (Yugal Kishore Prji):

* Arjuna is recounting Krishna's affection for them again and again.
* Because of Krishna's intervention only, Bhima could kill Jarasandha because Jarasandha was almost equal in strength to Bhima.
* Another pt: Jarasandha never refused charity to any brahmana, and he performed many sacrifices also, yet he was not on a par with devotional service.
* Krishna will correctly correct us, as is required for our purification. He will just correctly remove our anarthas.
* This happens in 11th Canto
- Arjuna is entrusted with Krishna's wives to protect them
- He is defeated by a gang of dacoits
- According to Vishwanath Chakravarthy Thakur's commentary, it was Krishna who came in the form of dacoits to steal His wives, cause one time they had expressed how wonderful it was that Krishna stole the hearts of the gopi's.
- ...
- Surrendering false ego is the real surrender.
* Krishna wants us to get rid of every impurity. Then He will take us back to Godhead. The problem is we have so many unlimited impurities. So are we cleansing our heart. That is all we have to check.
* It is only by the mercy of Krishna, Srimati Radharani, Sri CM, Srila Prabhupada, that we are here today on this path.
