Overcoming the 3 modes, engaging in DS!

Verse 1.13.54 (Mohan Prji):

* Today's verse, instructive to us.
* Story: Person who is trying to do the activity in the mode of goodness, however his senses being propelled towards gambling. Being driven by the senses.
* That's what SP is mentioning today, about the modes of passion and ignorance.
* For a person in goodness too, he is still being controlled by the senses.
* In BG Ch2, Krishna is describing a person who is mersed in transcendence. Same thing is mentioned here too. Verse 55 till end of chapter.
- First thing one should do: control the senses. These senses are very strong, as soon as object comes forward, pull the senses back. Even one sense is not controlled, will take away a person.
* So what is the solution
- Our philosophy is yukta vairagya. Utility is the principle. Use the senses in the service of the Lord. Eg: Ambarisha Maharaj, how he engaged his senses in the service of the Lord.
- Daiviesha guna mai...(BG)
- Cleaning the temple, hearing about the Lord etc. This is how simple the bhakti yoga process is.
- then we can easily transcend the 3 modes of nature!
