Verse 1.8.10:
* We do not know when the calamity comes to us. Here, Uttara, daughter of King Viraat was under a calamity.
* She was great in all respects - student of a great devotee, daughter of a great king, wife of a great warrior. Though she as related to a pure devotee, still she had problems. So problems will come, but if we take it as mercy of Krishna and we pursue our spiritual life, then we will make it
* Death is like a sword on our head, very close to our skin
* Here Uttara would have done sati along with her husband, but only to protect her to-be-born son, she was withstanding all pain. But now even the life of the baby was in danger and he was going to be the hope for the future
* Here Aswattama was targeting her son with the brahmastra
* Srila Prabhupada is commenting here, for a devotee, there is no calamity. Since everything is for our benefit
* But what she did with her intelligence is great. She took shelter of Krishna, not of any one else. She is pleading to Krishna. Our chanting should also be very good similarly. We should take complete shelter of Krishna always and very sincerely.
